Mobile Robot
This is a multifaceted project that involves mechanics, electronics, computers and math! The goals are the following -- Learn to use the PIC line of microcontrollers.
- Learn to interface with sensors such as gyros, rangefinders and thermometers.
- Setup an embedded linux system with no moving parts and interface it using serial port to control DC motors and read input from sensors.
- Build a mobile platform that will carry the computer, batteries and sensors.
- Mount a USB camera on robot and allow remote control operation using 802.11 wireless networking.
- Implement algorthms to allow for autonomous navigation.
